Getting your kid out the door into independence is our goal as parents, so when it happens, it’s very cool. Liberating some say. Terrifying say others. It can inspire our new, explorative selves, or send us to a place without signposts or meaning.
Either way, it’s one of life’s biggest chapters and can raise all sorts of questions, from “did I do ok as a parent?” to “what the hell now?”.
About me … I’m Michaela, a privileged parent of three teens (one gone a year, one soon to go, and one for the box to be locked and kept forever). I’m also a counsellor, and long time communicator. Please get involved and share your thoughts, that would make for a richer offering. xx
